Q: Was Jesus only written about in the bible?
A: No, there are many historical documents and historical people who wrote about Jesus. There are many "extrabiblical" sources that prove that Jesus was a man who actually existed! (**See the PowerPoint for examples we used in class**)
Q: Was Jesus a good man and a moral teacher, but not the Son of God?
A: It would be false to reduce Jesus to simply a wise man, guru, or some sort of moral teacher. While others (Buddha, Confucius, Muhammad, etc.) said that they had found a way to God or enlightenment and asked people to focus on their teachings, Jesus distinguishes himself from them because he says "I am" when asked if he is the Son of God. He wanted us to not just focus on his teachings, but HIM. (**See the excerpt from "Made for More" for scriptual references and further reading**)
Q: Is there a chance that Jesus was mentally insane and falsely claimed to be God or was simply lying about being God?
A: The potential for either of these options being viable is slim to none. (**See the PowerPoint, excerpt, or read "Mere Christianity" by C.S. Lewis for a full explanation on how these options are not likely.
